A Crowd Pleaser: Bacon Wrapped Medjool Dates

To mark the moment, we’re sharing a recipe that feels right at home with your Cigar Lounge design package—moody, rich, and undeniably cool.
We all love a good bacon-wrapped appetizer. It’s the crowd-pleaser. The first to vanish from the board. The one that whispers, “you’re in for a good night.” But what if we gave this classic a touch more swagger?
Meet the Bacon-Wrapped Medjool Date—where sweet meets smoky. The caramel richness of the date pairs perfectly with crispy bacon, creating a bite that’s as layered and luxurious as the space you’re in.
It’s proof that appetizers can be both approachable and elevated. Because bold flavor never goes out of style!
Ingredients:
- 8 slices bacon (thin–sliced works best)
- 16 Medjool dates, pitted
- 4 ounces goat cheese, softened
- Hot honey (optional)
- Toothpicks
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 °F. Slice each date lengthwise, remove the pit, and open a little pocket.
- Stuff each date with about 1 teaspoon of goat cheese, pressing the sides gently to close.
- Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap a half-slice around each cheese-filled date and secure with a toothpick.
- Bake on a rimmed baking sheet for 10 minutes. Use the toothpicks to turn each date so the bacon browns evenly, then bake another 5–8 minutes until crisp to your liking. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle with hot honey (optional)
