Patio season is here, and we’re not wasting a second of it.

Around here, we take our patios seriously. Not just a couple of tables and chairs, but spaces that invite you to slow down, soak up the sunshine, and maybe order one more round because why not. So we went ahead and rounded up some of our favorite patio gems across the Triangle and the Triad. Consider this your warm weather bucket list.

The Triangle

Caffe Driade (Chapel Hill)
Tucked just off Franklin Street, this one feels like you’ve wandered into a wooded hideaway that happens to serve excellent coffee and wine. The patio is layered into the landscape itself, with gravel paths, tucked-away tables, and a mix of sun and shade that makes it easy to stay awhile. It’s quiet, a little whimsical, and perfect for when you want to disappear for a bit without actually leaving town.

Steel String Brewery at Pluck Farm (Mebane)
This is patio meets open farmland. The setup is wide and welcoming, with long tables, lots of room to roam, and a steady rotation of beer brewed on-site. Add in food trucks, live music, and a family-friendly atmosphere, and it quickly turns into more of an all-afternoon hang than a quick stop.

Taverna Agora (Raleigh)
An open-air rooftop that feels like a true gathering place. The space is shaded, lined with greenery and trellises, and designed to feel relaxed but still a little transportive. It’s lively without being overwhelming, and the kind of place where dinner easily stretches into a second round.

Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar (Raleigh)
Hidden courtyard energy at its best. The patio centers around a reflecting pool with stonework and warm lighting that makes everything feel just a little more intimate. It’s one of those spots where you settle in for dinner and realize halfway through you’re not in any rush to leave.

Jolie (Raleigh)
Rooftop, but with a softer edge. The patio leans stylish and airy, with greenery, clean lines, and just enough buzz to feel like you’re somewhere special. It works just as well for a casual glass of wine as it does for a full, slow dinner that turns into lingering conversation.

Prime BBQ (Knightdale)
A choose-your-own setup depending on the day. There’s indoor seating, but when the weather cooperates, the outdoor tables fill up fast and bring a lively, communal feel to the experience. Either way, once you’ve got a tray of barbecue in front of you, you’ll want to settle in and take your time.

Holl & Stone Farms (Garner)
This one is less “patio” and more “full outdoor experience,” and that’s what makes it work. Set on a reimagined centennial farm dating back to the 1800s, the space blends open-air seating with a market, plant nursery, ice cream shop, and even farm animals nearby. Fire pits, wide open space, and room to wander make it feel like an easy, come-and-stay-awhile kind of outing rather than a quick stop.

The Triad

Print Works Bistro (Greensboro)
A patio that feels like it was designed as thoughtfully as the menu. Set along the water with lush landscaping, it creates a tucked-away, almost European feel. It’s polished without being stuffy, and ideal for long brunches or dinners that stretch into the evening.

Green Valley Grill (Greensboro)
A sister restaurant to Print Works, with its own take on outdoor dining. The patio leans more classic courtyard, with a refined but comfortable feel and a menu rooted in European flavors. It’s a go-to when you want something elevated that still feels easy.

Borough Coffee (Greensboro)
Set inside a restored historic home, this one brings a different kind of charm. The patio feels like an extension of the house, relaxed, welcoming, and a little tucked away. It’s the kind of place where mornings turn into afternoons without much effort.

Brown Truck Brewery (High Point)
Big, open, and built for gathering. The patio is spacious and dog-friendly, with a steady buzz of conversation and a rotating tap list that keeps things interesting. It’s easy to show up with a group or just settle in and let the afternoon unfold.

Summerfield Farms (Summerfield)
More landscape than patio, in the best way. Wide open fields, fresh air, and plenty of room to spread out make this feel like a full outing. Whether you’re walking the grounds or settling into a spot outside, it’s designed for slowing down and staying awhile.

Make your list, text your group, and start checking these off one by one. If you need us, we’ll be outside.
