Porch Season Is Here: Easy Drinks & Simple Ways to Gather with Neighbors

04/01/2026 | By Julie Primanti | Recipes

We love the idea of connection and community in our neighborhoods, so what better way to kick off spring than by getting to know a few new neighbors? Invite them over for drinks in the driveway or snacks on the porch. Think easy, casual, and zero pressure.

Keep it simple and don’t overthink it. Whip up a quick app, mix a batch cocktail (or mocktail), and you’re set. PS: we’ve got plenty of both on our blog if you need a little inspo.

Here are two easy favorites I keep on repeat:

This batch Tommy margarita is always a win. It's easy, fresh, and crowd-approved.

Chili Crisp Marinated Goat Cheese - Shoutout to Cheese Gal for this one. I recently took this to a friend's house and it was gone in minutes. No joke, it took maybe 10 minutes to throw together.

Ingredients:

  • 10.5 oz goat cheese log, sliced into medallions
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion or chives
  • 2 tbsp chili crisp (use your favorite)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, divided
  • Cracked black pepper

Directions:
In a small bowl, whisk together the chili crisp, honey, and 1/4 cup of the olive oil.

Arrange the goat cheese medallions in a shallow bowl or dish. Sprinkle the mint and green onion over the top. Spoon the chili crisp mixture evenly over the cheese, then drizzle with the remaining olive oil to lightly coat (add a little extra if needed). Finish with a generous crack of black pepper.

Serve with crackers or sliced baguette.

Pro Tip:
Making it ahead? Cover and refrigerate, then pull it out at least 30 minutes before serving.

Tommy's Margarita Pitcher (serves ~6): This is always a win. It's easy, fresh, and a crowd pleaser.

  • 2 cups blanco tequila
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2–1 cup cold water (or swap in a splash of orange liqueur for a twist)

Shake (or put in a blender), chill, and serve over ice with a salted rim.

Enjoy! Don't be shy, let us know how it goes ;)
