McLeansville to Greensboro: Local Spots Worth Exploring

Exploring close to home has always been one of my favorite ways to spend time, and McLeansville paired with Greensboro makes it especially easy. You get a little bit of everything here, from quiet outdoor spaces to lively local hangouts. With our new community, McConnell Ridge, arriving in McLeansville this summer, there’s even more to look forward to. If you’re new to the area or just looking for a few fresh ideas, here are some spots that are well worth adding to your list.

Keeley Park
This is not your average neighborhood park. It’s expansive, thoughtfully designed, and packed with things to do. You’ll find miles of walking trails, mountain biking paths, and even a bike pump track for a little extra fun. There’s a splash pad for warmer days, a playground that keeps kids entertained for hours, and a disc golf course if you’re feeling competitive. The ponds are open for fishing, and you’ll also come across spaces for cornhole and an outdoor fitness area. There’s even a shared community garden tucked in among it all. It’s the kind of place you can visit again and again without it ever feeling the same.

Sanctuary Coffee
A quiet little retreat when you need a break from the day. The atmosphere leans calm and cozy, making it ideal for slow mornings or an easy catch-up with a friend. Grab a drink, settle in, and let the pace of the day soften a bit.

Borough Coffee
Set inside a historic home, this spot brings a lot of character to your usual coffee run. It’s just as inviting whether you settle indoors or grab a seat outside, and it’s an easy place to spend a few hours getting some work done without feeling rushed. A solid go-to when you want a change of scenery.

Apple Farm
Strawberry season is the main event here. In the spring and early summer, you can pick your own berries straight from the field, which somehow always turns into more fun than expected. Beyond strawberries, they also offer a variety of fresh produce, so it’s worth stopping by even after peak picking season.

Homeland Creamery
Fresh, local, and full of charm. This family-owned dairy is known for its rich, homemade ice cream and bottled milk, all made right on site. Stop by for a scoop, take in the scenic surroundings, and enjoy a taste of something truly local.

Print Works Bistro
If you’re planning a nicer lunch outing, this one delivers. The patio is a standout, especially on a beautiful day, and the setting feels polished without being over the top. It’s the kind of place you linger a little longer than expected.

Dear Dad's
Expect energy, bold flavors, and a space that feels anything but ordinary. It’s a fun option when you want something casual that still feels like an experience. Perfect for a night out that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Greensboro Arboretum
A breath of fresh air in the middle of the city. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and the walking paths make it easy to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. Bring a coffee, take a stroll, and stay as long as you like.

Antique Marketplace GSO
Part shopping trip, part treasure hunt. You’ll come across everything from vintage furniture to one-of-a-kind decor pieces. It’s a great place to find something unique, especially if you love adding character to your home.

Piedmont Triad Farmers Market
Open every day, this local favorite is always a good idea. Fresh produce, handmade goods, and plenty of variety make it easy to stop in whenever it fits your schedule. Even if you’re just browsing, there’s always something new to discover.

Bitters Social House
When the day winds down, this is a great place to land. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish, and the drink menu keeps things interesting. It’s an easy pick for date night or meeting up with friends.

Living at McConnell Ridge means having all of this within reach. Whether it’s a morning walk at the park, an afternoon out exploring, or an evening spent somewhere new, there’s always something nearby to enjoy. It’s a lifestyle that feels connected, convenient, and just the right amount of fun.
